AS A LAMB IS LED TO THE SLAUGHTER

Forty eight years ago tonight, at this hour, this is where I was, in a photograph frozen in time, with Jesus looking the other way.

It seemed like a good idea at the moment. 

It was something that had the potential to be the best marriage ever.  It didn’t pan out.  It was doomed from the start.  Two immature, egocentric, young people who had no business getting married and who today, probably wouldn’t.   I am aware of my many faults.  I am aware of her faults.  To enumerate them now would be pointless.  After twenty years and three wonderful and wounded children the words came down in a courthouse in Colorado: Irrevocable Differences.  And with that I picked up my life and went on to meet triumph and tragedy.

I have a lot of regrets in my life and the fact that this marriage failed is probably the greatest.

FALL BACK AND REGROUP

OK, Sports Fans.  I have learned something in the last few months.  Writing a blog is somewhat like owning a cow.  You have to keep feeding it and you have to stop and clean out the stable.

I have been on a roll with political & social issues.  I still have more to go.  I said in the beginning that this blog would morph and it has.  I have received pressure to write blood and sand as promised, both from the outside and self imposed.  I respect all those opinions.  I am considering that my grandchildren may read this and that my reputation with my family has suffered enough already.  Some of the people I might write about are still living and married or both.  Some, but not all.  So discretion is the better part of valor.  There are also some things that are so horrible that I cannot write of them, and that alcohol wouldn’t eradicate.  That’s where Brenda comes in.

I plan to continue to write.  Yes, on politics but I plan to mix with stories of my personal experiences and observations.  Right now guys, cut me some slack.  I need to do some things for myself.  I need to spend quality time with my cat.  I want to study the people of the country of Myanmar.  I need to clean up the files on my computer before it does a China Syndrome.  I want to paint my room Dorian Grey.

Just to set the record straight, I download stuff, pictures primarily, from the internet.  Anything I download and used in my work I am going to assume is free domain.  If anyone has a problem with what I use; if I am infringing on anyone, please contact me and we will work it out.  By the same token feel free to use anything I post.  Credits are nice.  I am not hard to get along with in spite of some opinions to the contrary.  Wives, ex wives, etc.
